about

This song was orginally recorded as part of a self produced album "Can't Love You Anymore". Then was re-recorded with Buddy's son, Jericho Powell another self produced album "Train Goin' Nowhere". The song was submitted to the Northwest Alabama songwriter's contest in 2014 and was remastered as part of the "Buddy Powell" album as part of the prize package that Buddy Powell won as the 2014 songwriter of the year.

What were You Thinkin’

Verse 1
What were you thinking?
The rumor’s all over town
There’s not a thing about you I don’t know
You’re busted and that’s too bad
You’re sorry now that’s so sad honey
What do I have to do to make you go?

Chorus:
Can I buy you a one way ticket off to anywhere?
Make sure you get to that boarding ramp on time
Do I have to paint a picture?
Do I have to say I told you so?
What do I have to do to make you go?

Verse 2
What were you thinking?
Did you have a clue that I don’t care
You made a believer of me long ago
You lie and stay out all night
Two wrongs don’t make a right, honey
What do I have to do to make you go?

Chorus:
Can I buy you a one way ticket off to anywhere?
Make sure you get to that boarding ramp on time
Do I have to paint a picture?
Do I have to say I told you so?
What do I have to do to make you go?
